Ground Lamb Gyros
Ground lamb is great for making burgers and meatballs, but did you know it is also used in Gyros! We often get asked if we carry gyro meat, which we don’t. However gyro meat is easy to make at home and is similar to making meat loaf! Here is a recipe that uses 100% ground lamb, or alternatively here is a recipe for the version of gyro meat most often sold is the U.S., which uses one pound of ground lamb and one pound of ground beef. Gyros would be especially tasty this time of year with a fresh Michigan tomato sliced on top along with fresh red onion and homemade cucumber yogurt sauce!
